The second edition of the Halal Technical-Scientific Congress (CTec Halal), the first event of its kind in Latin America, will take place in São Paulo on October 27th and 28th at the WTC Events Center. The congress is hosted by the International Halal Academy, a private institute specializing in the Halal sector, providing education, training, qualifications, and continuing education.

 

The goal of CTec Halal is to share knowledge and experiences about the Halal market with students, academics, professionals, and anyone interested in learning more about the topic. The Congress is held in partnership with FAMBRAS HALAL Certifications and the CCAB – Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.

 

Registration is now open for technical and scientific papers developed in various areas of interest within the Halal segment, including the experience gained by academics and professionals from the national and international market. Selected papers may be presented on one of the CTec days. The rules and regulations are now available on this website for interested parties.

RULES OF THE II HALAL SCIENTIFIC-TECHNICAL CONGRESS - YEAR 2025

 

1. PREAMBLE

These standards govern the conditions for the Halal Technical-Scientific Congress (CTecHalal), an event organized by the International Halal Academy and held as part of the Global Halal Brazil Business Forum. Its objective is to disseminate technical and scientific work developed in various areas of interest within the Halal sector and the experience gained by academics and professionals from the national and international markets. The Congress is held in partnership with FAMBRAS HALAL Certifications and the CCAB (Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce).

 

2. STRUCTURE OF CtecHalal

The structure of CtecHalal is composed of a Scientific Organizing Committee,

Appointed by the Director General of the International Halal Academy, the committee is composed of the Secretary General of the International Halal Academy, who will also serve as coordinator, and experts in various areas of interest. The working sessions of this committee will be held according to a calendar and work plan approved by the Director General. CtecHalal's activities will be developed during the Global Halal Brazil – Business Forum through lectures, roundtable discussions, short courses, and presentations of technical and scientific papers addressing topics related to Halal's areas of interest and professional experience. The dissemination and programming will be approved by the Organizing Scientific Committee and the budget approved by the Director General. CtecHalal's objective is to collect technical and scientific papers for presentation at the Congress, which will take place concurrently with the Global Halal Brazil – Business Forum, held in Brazil, and will be published in the Congress proceedings.

 

3. SUBMISSION OF WORKS

3.1. Submitted works must address the modalities covered in the following areas of interest of Halal:

  • Management and Planning;
  • Agribusiness;
  • Food and Beverages;
  • Drugs;
  • Cosmetics;
  • Fashion and Clothing;
  • Banking and finance;
  • Logistics - Storage and distribution;
  • Technology;
  • Tourism;
  • Hospitality and Services;
  • Environment and Sanitation;
  • Quality Controls and Management;
  • Audit;
  • Analysis Laboratories;
  • Religious Principles;
  • Media and Leisure.
  •  

    3.2. All authors of submitted papers must be identified by their title, institution or organization, city, state, and country, and contact email address, according to the editable template available on the International Halal Academy homepage (www.academyhalal.com). The paper must be submitted to CtecHalal by the first author identified at the beginning of the author list. Of the paper's authors, only this author will receive correspondence from the conference organizers and will present the paper.

     

    3.2.1. Each work may have a maximum of five authors.

    3.2.2. Authors may be students of technical, undergraduate or postgraduate courses affiliated with national or international educational institutions; or market professionals.

     

    3.3. All authors of the work must be registered and sign up for Global Halal Brasil – Business Forum.

     

    3.4. Papers must be submitted to CtecHalal by the deadline established in these regulations. A maximum of 3 (three) technical and/or scientific papers may be submitted by the first author. Written papers must be written in Portuguese and have a maximum length of 5 (five) A4 pages.

     

    3.5. Works must be submitted in .doc format, without blocking and editable, identified with the title in capital letters, containing a maximum of 15 words, including monosyllables, disyllables, trisyllables and polysyllables.

     

    3.6. Submission of papers for selection and presentation at CtecHalal and publication in the conference proceedings implies irrevocable acceptance of these rules by the authors. The International Halal Academy is not responsible for the improper indication of a co-author.

     

     

    4. ACCEPTANCE OF WORKS

    4.1. Only papers that fully comply with these guidelines will be accepted for selection. Literature reviews will not be accepted. Submitted papers should include results already achieved. Papers that are still under development and/or with results not yet obtained may be accepted.

     

    4.2. Submitted works will be evaluated for acceptance by the Organizing Scientific Committee, which will observe the originality of the approach and compliance with the writing and text formatting rules set out in this standard.

     

    4.3. The writing and formatting rules must be strictly followed, especially regarding scientific notation and relevant technical standards. If there are irremediable errors in the writing and formatting rules, the work will not be accepted for evaluation.

     

    4.4. The originality of the approach will be verified through appropriate bibliographic research, using specific software, to test documents for the existence of improper copies of other published documents. A 3% limit is permitted for the identification, through specific bibliographic research software, of the possible existence of improper copies of published documents in the work submitted for evaluation by CtecHalal.

     

    4.5. For the purposes of assessing originality, a document is considered to contain improper copies when it adapts or transcribes excerpts from other published documents without complying with the bibliographic reference citation standard. If excerpts from other published documents are copied without proper bibliographic citation, the work will not be accepted for evaluation and selection for presentation at CtecHalal, nor for publication in the conference proceedings.

     

    4.6. The NOT ACCEPTED opinion will be duly justified and communicated to the first author, via electronic message, with no appeals being allowed by the authors of the work against the decision issued by the Organizing Scientific Committee.

     

     

    5. SELECTION OF WORKS

    5.1. ACCEPTED papers will be selected for presentation during CTecHalal, parallel to the Global Halal Brazil – Business Forum.

     

    5.2. The opinions of the evaluators of the Organizing Scientific Committee for the presented works will be “APPROVED” or “REJECTED”.

     

    5.2.1. Evaluators will observe, among other criteria: the adequacy of the work's objective to the modality's theme; the clarity of the presentation of the topic; the contextualization of the problem situation; the coherence between the objectives; the justification and social relevance of the study; the scientific robustness of the hypotheses presented; the coherence and adequacy of the adopted methodology with the intended purpose of the study and whether it is adequately detailed to be reproduced; whether the results are adequately described and in accordance with what was collected and reported in the methodology; whether the use of graphs and tables facilitates the presentation of the topic; whether there is redundant information about the study results; whether the discussion is coherent and current, dialoguing with the proposed objectives and the results obtained.

     

    5.3. Papers requiring corrections will be forwarded to the first author. After corrections, the papers must be forwarded to the Organizing Scientific Committee by the first author within 5 (five) calendar days, counting from the first day after notification of the correction. Corrected papers, if forwarded after the deadline, will be REJECTED.

     

    5.4. Changes to the title of papers will only be made if determined by the Organizing Scientific Committee. Requests to change titles and authors will not be accepted before the papers have been evaluated and selected.

     

    5.5. The REJECTED opinion will be duly justified and communicated to the author, via electronic message, and no appeals against the decision will be allowed.

     

     

    6. PRESENTATION OF WORKS BY PHYSICAL OR DIGITAL BANNER

    6.1. All approved works will be presented at CtecHalal via a physical or digital banner at the discretion of the Congress Organizing Committee.

     

    6.2. The first author of the work approved for presentation via banner must submit the electronic file in editable .ppt or .pptx format, according to the model adopted by the CtecHalal Organizing Committee and available on the International Halal Academy homepage, within 5 (five) calendar days, counting from the day after notification. The exclusion of the logos of the event's sponsors or supporters from the CtecHalal banner model is prohibited.

     

    6.3. The banner file of the work to be submitted to CtecHalal must be named with the work title in capital letters. No subsequent changes are permitted. The selected work must be presented via banner by the author, provided they prove they have registered for the Global Halal Brasil – Business Forum. Submissions by third parties other than the authors of the selected work are prohibited.

     

    6.4. The location, date and time for the banner presentation will be included in the CtecHalal schedule, which will be announced in advance by the event's Organizing Committee. At the discretion of this organization, the presentation may be live or recorded online.

     

    6.5. The banners will be displayed from the first day of the Global Halal Brazil – Business Forum, in the designated presentation locations, before the scheduled opening time and cannot be removed before the end of CtecHalal; and in the case of an event held virtually, the display conditions will be defined by the event organizer.

     

    6.6. The banner presenter must remain at the presentation location for the entire presentation period, awaiting the banner presentation evaluation committee. At the end of the presentation, the banner presenter must sign the attendance list—either in person or online—at which point, at the evaluation committee's discretion, they may be excused from the presentation session and remain at the event venue until the end of CtecHalal. Signing the attendance list is required for the issuance of the banner presentation certificate.

     

    6.7. The Event Organizing Committee and the International Halal Academy will not cover any travel or accommodation expenses for the authors of articles selected for presentation via banner on CTecHalal to participate in the event.

     

    6.8. Authors of papers displayed on banners (at in-person events) may only remove them after the CtecHalal conference has concluded. The International Halal Academy and the conference organizers will not send banners to authors. Banners not removed at the end of the conference will be disposed of or donated to interested institutions.

     

    6.9. Authors presenting their work on a banner must submit it according to the template available on the International Halal Academy website and with the following specifications: maximum usable area of 1.08 m²; maximum dimensions of 0.9 m wide by 1.20 m high; non-serif font (Arial, Calibri, etc.) in a size that allows reading from a distance of at least 2.0 m (minimum size of 28 pt), in order to facilitate reading by participants; present the title, authors, affiliation institutions, correspondence and email address, introduction, material and methods, results and discussion; present photographs, graphs, tables and figures that facilitate illustration and conclusions, and present the logos of supporting and sponsoring companies, when applicable.

     

    6.10. The presentation of work by banner will be evaluated by two members of the Organizing Scientific Committee and two experts invited by the congress organization.

     

     

    7. ORAL PRESENTATION OF WORK

    7.1. The presentation at CTecHalal of the selected work classified for oral presentation will be made by the first author of the work, provided that he/she proves to have registered with Global Halal Brasil – Business Forum, and presentation by third parties who are not authors of the classified work is prohibited.

     

    7.2. The International Halal Academy will not cover the travel and accommodation costs for the authors of each paper classified for oral presentation at CTecHalal.

     

    7.3. Authors of selected papers for oral presentation must submit their PowerPoint files (.pps) with a maximum size of 2 MB to ctechalal@academiahalal.com.br within 5 calendar days of the publication of the selected papers. The presentation will last 10 minutes, with 7 minutes for the presentation of the topic and 3 minutes for discussion.

     

    7.4. The oral presentation will be held in virtual or in-person rooms, which will take place on the days and times defined by the CTecHalal Organizing Scientific Committee.

     

    7.5. The oral presentation of the papers may be replaced by a roundtable discussion at the discretion of the CTecHalal Organizing Scientific Committee. The roundtable will consist of the authors of the paper and members chosen by the Organizing Scientific Committee.

     

     

    8. CLASSIFICATION OF WORKS FOR ORAL PRESENTATION

    8.1. Of the works accepted for presentation at CTecHalal, up to 12 (twelve) works will be classified for oral presentation.

     

    8.2. The classification of the works will be carried out by experts appointed by the CTecHalal Organizing Scientific Committee, who will forward the classified works to the CTecHalal Scientific Evaluation Committee.

     

    8.2.1. The Coordinator of the CTecHalal Organizing Scientific Committee will forward the list of classified works, indicating the authors who will make the presentation, for deliberation by the CTecHalal Scientific Evaluation Committee.

     

    8.3. The dissemination of works classified for oral presentation at CTecHalal will only be carried out through publication on the International Halal Academy website and on social networks linked to the event.

     

     

    9. PUBLICATION OF WORKS

    9.1. Responsibility for the content of published works lies solely with the author(s).

     

    9.2. Submission of work for evaluation and selection at CTecHalal implies, jointly and severally, permission to use the image and permission to publish in the CTecHalal annals and in technical journals deemed appropriate.

     

     

    10. FORMATTING WORKS FOR PUBLICATION IN THE CTecHalal PROCEEDINGS

    10.1. Text formatting

    a) The text must be in Word for Windows format, with a maximum of 5 pages, written in Times New Roman font, size 11 pt. The text must be single-spaced, justified, and have a paragraph width of 1.25 cm.

    b) The following margins must be observed, which must be on an A4 sheet: top, bottom, left and right sides equal to 2.5 cm.

    c) The title must be written in all capital letters, centered, size 12 pt, in bold.

    d) Authors must be identified in capital letters, Times New Roman format, size 10 pt. In addition to the full name, the profession, institution, city, state, address and email for correspondence must also be provided, also in Times New Roman format and size 10 pt.

    e) The texts of scientific papers must contain a title with a maximum of 15 words; an abstract with a maximum of 15 lines; keywords with a minimum of 3 words and a maximum of 5 words, which must not be contained in the title; title in English; abstract; keywords; introduction, material and methods, results and discussion, conclusion and references.

    f) The texts of technical papers and reports may also follow the following formatting:

    Context or Introduction, Product/Service or Development, Conclusions and References (optional).

    g) The introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, and conclusion may be written separately or together as a technical report. Acknowledgments are optional. Sections should be formatted in capital letters and bold, size 11 pt.

    h) The titles of tables and figures should be written above them, in Times New Roman format, font size 11 pt.

    i) Bibliographic references must be in accordance with the examples.

     

    10.2. In-text citations

    a) When the citation has only one author: Zonta (2010) or (Zonta, 2010).

    b) When the citation has two authors: Mielniczuk & Tornquist (2010) or (Mielniczuk & Tornquist, 2010).

    c) When the citation has more than two authors: Pezzopane et al. (2010) or (Pezzopane et al., 2010).

    d) When the authorship of the work is an institution/company, the citation must be its acronym, in capital letters. Examples: EMBRAPA (2010) or (EMBRAPA, 2010).

     

    10.3. List of cited literature

    Bibliographies cited in the text should be arranged in alphabetical order, by the first author's last name, in ascending chronological order, and include the names of all authors. The following are formatting examples:

    11. CERTIFICATION

    11.1. Certificate of participation in the Halal Technical-Scientific Congress – CtecHalal. It will be issued online to all CTecHalal participants.

     

    11.2. Letter of Acceptance for work selected for presentation at CTecHalal.

    It will be issued online to authors whose works have been accepted for presentation at CTecHalal.

     

    11.3. Certificate of Merit

    It will be issued online to authors whose works have been classified for presentation.

    oral presentation at CTecHalal. At the end of the oral presentation session (in the case of in-person presentation), the author who presented the work will receive a printed certificate.

     

    11.4. Certificate of presentation of work on a banner at CtecHalal. This certificate will be issued online to the author who presented the banner.

     

    11.5. CtecHalal speaker certificate.

    It will be issued online, or in printed form (in the case of in-person) and will be given to the speaker at the end of the lecture/mini-course session, indicating the topic of the lecture/mini-course given.

     

    11.6. Certificate of participation in a short course.

    Issued online to the mini-course participant, indicating the topic and the number of hours completed in the mini-course.

     

    11.7. CtecHalal activity mediator certificate.

    Issued online to the mediator at the end of the CtecHalal activity, indicating the theme of the activity.

     

    11.8. Certificates issued online will be available to interested parties starting 5 calendar days after the closing date of CtecHalal. Certificates issued online will be available to the awardee in the CtecHalal registration systems for 90 (ninety) days after the closing date of the event.

     

     

    12. GENERAL PROVISIONS

    12.1. Submissions to CtecHalal must be made exclusively through the submission system by the deadline stipulated in the REGULATIONS, which are published on the International Halal Academy homepage. Submissions through the CtecHalal submission system after the deadline stipulated in the REGULATIONS will not be permitted.

     

    12.2. The data entered into the CtecHalal registration systems will be the sole responsibility of the first author, and there may be no subsequent changes, especially to the title of the work that will be used to generate the certificates a posteriori.

     

    12.3. The International Halal Academy and the congress organization are not responsible for registration/enrollment not completed by any of the interested authors and which is not officially registered in the registration system.

    REGULATION Nº 001/2023

     

    The INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY, a private, secular, neutral and apolitical, non-profit association, registered with the CNPJ/MF under number 54.164.778/0001-65, with headquarters at Avenida Yervant Kissajikian, 1040 – CEP: 04657-001, São Paulo-SP, INVITES interested parties to submit technical-scientific papers for evaluation and, if approved, to present and publish them in the proceedings of the 2nd HALAL TECHNICAL-SCIENTIFIC CONGRESS – CTecHalal, which will be held in parallel with the activities of the GLOBAL HALAL BRAZIL – Business Forum, on October 27th and 28th, 2025, under the terms established herein. The Congress is held in partnership with FAMBRAS HALAL Certificações and CCAB – Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.

     

    1 - OF THE OBJECT

    1.1 Evaluate and select technical and scientific papers that meet the requirements of this Regulation for presentation at the 2nd Halal Technical-Scientific Congress - CTecHalal, one of the activities of GLOBAL HALAL BRASIL – Business Forum, on October 27 and 28, 2025.

     

    2 - MOTIVATION

    2.1 - 2.1 CTecHalal aims to disseminate technical and scientific work developed by professionals and students from national and international institutions. These works will be published in the event proceedings and posted electronically on the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY homepage. The CTecHalal program includes technical and scientific presentations, short courses, conferences, and lectures by experts. Important and current topics will be discussed, promoting the exchange of experiences among researchers, companies, professors, students, and professionals.

     

    3 - SUBMISSION OF WORKS

    3.1 Works and banners must be submitted exclusively on the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY registration/monitoring website or sent to the email address: ctechalal@academiahalal.com.br. Works sent to other addresses or by mail will not be accepted.

     

    3.2 Submission deadline: 11:59 p.m. on August 31, 2025.

     

    3.3 The submission rules will be available on the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY homepage (www.academyhalal.com) from the publication of these Regulations.

     

    4 - SELECTION CRITERIA

    4.1 The topics of the registered papers must address the modalities covered by the Halal segment, namely: a) Management and Planning; b) Agribusiness; c) Food and Beverages; d) Pharmaceuticals; e) Cosmetics; f) Fashion and Clothing; g) Banking and Finance; h) Logistics - Storage and Distribution; i) Technology; j) Tourism, Hospitality and Services; k) Environment and Sanitation; l) Quality Controls and Management; m) Standards, Accreditation, Certification and Auditing; n) Analysis Laboratories; o) Religious Principles; p) Media and Leisure. Technical papers that address Professional Experience, Management, Quality, Education, Occupational Safety and Sustainability and ESG Practices may also be registered for selection purposes for presentation at CTecHalal and publication in the Congress Proceedings.

    4.2 The registered works will be evaluated and selected by a Scientific Evaluation Committee composed of experts or professionals appointed by the General Director of the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY, which will be coordinated by the General Secretary of the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY, who will observe, among other criteria, the suitability to the theme of the modality, the originality of the approach and the clarity of the presentation of the theme.

    4.3 The originality of the approach will be verified through appropriate bibliographic research using specific document testing software to identify the existence of improper copies of other published documents. A 5% limit is permitted for the identification, through specific bibliographic research software, of the possible existence of improper copies of published documents in the work submitted for evaluation by CTecHalal.

    4.4 For the purposes of assessing originality, a document is considered to contain improper copies when it adapts or transcribes excerpts from other published documents without complying with the bibliographic reference citation standard. If excerpts from other published documents are copied without proper bibliographic citation, the work will not be accepted for evaluation, selection for presentation at CTecHalal, or publication in the conference proceedings.

     

    5 - RESULT OF THE JUDGMENT OF THE WORKS

    5.1 The papers selected for presentation at CTecHalal and publication in the Congress proceedings will be published on the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY registration/monitoring website (www.academiahalal.com.br) until September 31, 2025.

    5.2 There may be, at the discretion of the Organizing Committee, awards for authors whose works are selected for oral presentation at CTecHalal.

     

    6 - PRESENTATION OF WORKS

    6.1 All selected works will be presented at CTecHalal through a banner and oral presentation.

    6.2 The presentation of the selected work via banner on CTecHalal will be done virtually or in person by the author(s) of the work, and will be available on the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY homepage (www.academiahalal.com.br).

    6.3 INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY and the event organizers will not cover any travel, accommodation and food expenses for authors of articles selected for presentation via banner on CTecHalal.

    6.4 Of the selected papers, up to 12 (twelve) will be classified for oral presentation at CTecHalal. The oral presentation at CTecHalal of the classified paper will be made by the first author, provided that he/she proves that he/she has registered for the GLOBAL HALAL BRAZIL – Business Forum event.

    6.5 The oral presentation will be held in virtual or in-person rooms that will take place on the days and times defined by the CTecHalal Organizing Scientific Committee.

    6.6 The oral presentation of the papers may be replaced by a roundtable discussion, at the discretion of the CTecHalal Organizing Scientific Committee. The roundtable will consist of the authors of the paper and members chosen by the Organizing Scientific Committee.

     

    7 - PUBLICATION OF WORKS

    7.1 The publication of works in the CTecHalal annals considers only unpublished works or those considered relevant by the Organizing Scientific Committee in their respective modalities.

    7.2 Responsibility for the content of published works lies solely with the author(s).

    7.3 Submission of the work for evaluation and selection at CTecHalal implies, jointly and severally, permission for the use of the image, permission for publication in the CTecHalal proceedings, and permission for the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY to redistribute the work and its metadata to indexing and reference services on the Internet. Publication of the work in technical journals must be authorized by the author(s).

     

    8 - CLARIFICATIONS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    9 - CANCELLATION OR REVOCATION OF THE REGULATION

    9.1 At any time, this Regulation may be revoked or annulled, in whole or in part, at the discretion of INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY, without implying the right to compensation or claim of any nature.

     

    10 - RESERVATION CLAUSE

    10.1 The Management and General Secretariat of INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY reserve the right to resolve any omissions and situations not covered by these Regulations.
