The second edition of the Halal Technical-Scientific Congress (CTec Halal), the first event of its kind held in Latin America, will take place in São Paulo on October 27 and 28 at the WTC Events Center. The congress is being organized by the International Halal Academy, a private institute for education, training, qualification and continuing education specializing in the Halal segment.
The objective of CTec Halal is to share knowledge and experiences about the Halal market with students, academics, professionals and those interested in learning more about the subject. The Congress is held in partnership with FAMBRAS HALAL Certificações and CCAB – Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
Registration is now open for submissions of technical and scientific papers developed in the various areas of interest of the Halal segment and including the experience acquired by academics and professionals from the national and international market. The selected papers may be presented on one of the CTec days. The rules and regulations are now available on this website for those interested.

REGULATIONS OF THE 2nd HALAL TECHNICAL-SCIENTIFIC CONGRESS – YEAR 2025
PREAMBLE
These regulations govern the execution conditions of the Halal Technical-Scientific Congress – CTecHalal, an event organized by the International Halal Academy, which will be held as one of the activities of the Global Halal Brazil – Business Forum. Its objective is to disseminate technical and scientific works developed in various areas of interest within the Halal sector, as well as the experience gained by academics and professionals from both the national and international markets. The Congress is held in partnership with FAMBRAS HALAL Certifications and the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (CCAB).
STRUCTURE OF CTecHalal
The structure of CTecHalal consists of a Scientific Organizing Committee appointed by the General Director of the International Halal Academy. This committee includes the Secretary General of the International Halal Academy, who will also act as coordinator, and specialists from various relevant fields. The working sessions of this committee will follow a schedule and work plan approved by the General Director. CTecHalal activities will take place during the Global Halal Brazil – Business Forum and will include lectures, roundtables with debates, short courses, and the presentation of technical-scientific papers addressing topics related to Halal and professional experience. All programming and dissemination will be approved by the Scientific Organizing Committee, and the budget by the General Director. The main purpose of CTecHalal is to gather technical and scientific papers for presentation at the Congress, which will be held concurrently with the Global Halal Brazil – Business Forum in Brazil, and these works will be published in the Congress proceedings.
3. SUBMISSION OF PAPERS
3.1. Submitted papers must address topics within the following areas of interest related to Halal:
Management and Planning;
- Agribusiness;
- Food and Beverages;
- Pharmaceuticals;
- Cosmetics;
- Fashion and Apparel;
- Banking and Finance;
- Logistics – Storage and Distribution;
- Technology;
- Tourism;
- Hospitality and Services;
- Environment and Sanitation;
- Quality Control and Management;
- Auditing;
- Analytical Laboratories;
- Religious Principles;
- Media and Entertainment.
3.2. The submitted paper must list all authors, including their titles, institutional or organizational affiliation, city, state, and country of location, as well as an email address for contact, in accordance with the editable template available on the homepage of the International Halal Academy (www.academyhalal.com). The paper must be submitted to CTecHalal by the first author listed. Only this author will receive correspondence from the Congress organizers and will be responsible for presenting the work.
3.2.1. Each paper may have a maximum of five authors.
3.2.2. Authors may be technical, undergraduate, or postgraduate students affiliated with national or international educational institutions, or market professionals.
3.3. All authors must be registered and enrolled in the Global Halal Brazil – Business Forum.
3.4. Papers must be submitted to CTecHalal by the deadline defined in this regulation. A maximum of three (3) technical and/or scientific papers may be submitted by the first author. Written papers must be in Portuguese and not exceed five (5) A4 pages.
3.5. Papers must be submitted in .doc format, unlocked and editable, and titled in uppercase letters. Titles may contain a maximum of 15 words, including monosyllabic, disyllabic, trisyllabic, and polysyllabic words.
3.6. Submission of papers for selection, presentation at CTecHalal, and publication in the Congress proceedings constitutes the authors’ irrevocable acceptance of these regulations. The International Halal Academy is not responsible for the incorrect designation of co-authors.
4. ACCEPTANCE OF PAPERS
4.1. Only papers that fully comply with these regulations will be accepted for review. Literature review papers will not be accepted. It is recommended that submitted works include results already achieved. However, papers that are still in development and/or do not yet have results may also be accepted.
4.2. Submitted papers will be evaluated for acceptance by the Scientific Organizing Committee, which will assess the originality of the approach and adherence to the writing and formatting rules outlined in this regulation.
4.3. The writing and formatting rules must be strictly followed, particularly regarding scientific notation and applicable technical standards. If there are irreparable issues in formatting or writing, the paper will not be accepted for review.
4.4. Originality will be verified through proper bibliographic research using specific software to detect possible instances of improper copying from published sources. A maximum of 3% similarity, as identified by the software, will be tolerated for potential improper copying from published documents.
4.5. For the purposes of evaluating originality, a document will be considered as having improper copies if it adapts or reproduces excerpts from other published sources without proper bibliographic citation in accordance with referencing standards. Papers containing copied sections from other sources without appropriate citation will be rejected for review and will not be selected for presentation at CTecHalal or for publication in the Congress proceedings.
4.6. A “NOT ACCEPTED” decision will be duly justified and communicated to the first author via email. No appeals will be accepted regarding the decisions made by the Scientific Organizing Committee.
5. SELECTION OF PAPERS
5.1. Papers marked as ACCEPTED will be selected for presentation during CTecHalal, which will be held in parallel with the Global Halal Brazil – Business Forum.
5.2. The Scientific Organizing Committee reviewers will issue one of two decisions for each paper: “APPROVED” or “REJECTED.”
5.2.1. Reviewers will evaluate papers based on the following criteria, among others:
- Relevance of the topic to the theme;
- Clarity in topic presentation;
- Contextualization of the problem statement;
- Coherence among objectives;
- Justification and social relevance of the study;
- Scientific robustness of the presented hypotheses;
- Coherence and appropriateness of the methodology with the study’s objectives, and whether the methodology is sufficiently detailed for replication;
- Whether the results are clearly described and consistent with the data collected and the stated methodology;
- Use of graphs and tables to enhance the presentation;
- Whether there is redundancy in presenting the study results;
- Whether the discussion is coherent and current, aligning with the objectives and findings.
5.3. Papers requiring corrections will be returned to the first author. After making the necessary changes, the first author must resubmit the corrected paper to the Scientific Organizing Committee within five (5) calendar days, starting from the day after the correction notice is sent. Late submissions will be REJECTED.
5.4. Title changes will only be made if requested by the Scientific Organizing Committee. Requests to change titles or authors will not be accepted prior to the evaluation and selection process.
5.5. A “REJECTED” decision will be duly justified and communicated to the first author via email. No appeals will be accepted regarding this decision.
6. PRESENTATION OF PAPERS VIA PHYSICAL OR DIGITAL POSTER
6.1. All approved papers will be presented at CTecHalal via either a physical or digital poster, at the discretion of the Congress Organizing Committee.
6.2. The first author of the paper approved for poster presentation must submit the digital file in editable .ppt or .pptx format, using the template provided by the CTecHalal Organizing Committee, available on the International Halal Academy homepage, within five (5) calendar days from the day following the notification. Removal of sponsor or supporter logos from the CTecHalal poster template is prohibited.
6.3. The poster file submitted must be named using the paper’s title in uppercase letters. No changes will be allowed after submission. The selected paper must be presented by the author, who must provide proof of registration for the Global Halal Brazil – Business Forum. Presentations by individuals who are not listed as authors are not permitted.
6.4. The location, date, and time for the poster presentation will be included in the CTecHalal program, which will be announced in advance by the event’s Organizing Committee. At the committee’s discretion, the presentation may be delivered live online or pre-recorded.
6.5. Posters will be displayed from the first day of the Global Halal Brazil – Business Forum in designated areas and must be set up before the scheduled opening time. They cannot be removed before the closing of CTecHalal. For virtual events, the exhibition conditions will be defined by the event organizers.
6.6. The presenting author must remain at the poster site for the entire scheduled presentation period, waiting for the Poster Evaluation Committee. At the end of the session, the presenting author must sign the attendance list—either physically or virtually. Only then, and at the committee’s discretion, may the author be released from the session, though they are encouraged to stay until the end of CTecHalal. Signing the attendance list is mandatory to receive the poster presentation certificate.
6.7. The Event Organizing Committee and the International Halal Academy will not cover any travel or accommodation expenses for authors of papers selected for poster presentation at CTecHalal.
6.8. Authors of posters presented in person may collect them only after the closing of CTecHalal. The International Halal Academy and the Congress Organizing Committee will not mail posters to the authors. Posters not collected at the end of the Congress will be discarded or donated to interested institutions.
6.9. Authors presenting posters must follow the template available on the International Halal Academy website and adhere to the following specifications:
- Maximum usable area: 1.08 m²;
- Maximum dimensions: 0.90 m wide by 1.20 m high;
- Sans-serif fonts (Arial, Calibri, etc.) in a size readable from a minimum distance of 2.0 meters (minimum font size: 28 pt);
- The poster must include the title, authors, affiliated institutions, mailing address and email, introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion;
- Include photographs, charts, tables, and figures that support the illustration and conclusions;
- Include sponsor and supporter logos, where applicable.
6.10. Poster presentations will be evaluated by two members of the Scientific Organizing Committee and two experts invited by the Congress organizers.
7. ORAL PRESENTATION OF PAPERS
7.1. Oral presentations of selected papers at CTecHalal must be delivered by the first author, who must provide proof of registration for the Global Halal Brazil – Business Forum. Presentations by individuals who are not listed as authors of the selected paper are not allowed.
7.2. The International Halal Academy will not cover travel or accommodation expenses for authors of papers selected for oral presentation at CTecHalal.
7.3. Authors of papers selected for oral presentation must submit their PowerPoint presentation files (.pps format), with a maximum size of 2 MB, to the email address ctechalal@academiahalal.com.br within five (5) calendar days after the announcement of the selected papers. Each presentation will be limited to 10 minutes—7 minutes for the presentation and 3 minutes for Q&A or discussion.
7.4. Oral presentations will take place in virtual or in-person rooms on dates and times scheduled by the CTecHalal Scientific Organizing Committee.
7.5. At the discretion of the Scientific Organizing Committee, the oral presentation may be replaced by participation in a roundtable discussion. The roundtable will consist of the paper’s authors and members selected by the Committee.
8. CLASSIFICATION OF PAPERS FOR ORAL PRESENTATION
8.1. Out of all accepted papers for CTecHalal, up to twelve (12) will be selected for oral presentation.
8.2. The classification of papers will be carried out by experts appointed by the CTecHalal Scientific Organizing Committee, which will forward the selected works to the CTecHalal Scientific Evaluation Committee.
8.2.1. The Coordinator of the CTecHalal Scientific Organizing Committee will submit the list of selected papers, indicating the presenting authors, to the CTecHalal Scientific Evaluation Committee for final approval.
8.3. The selected papers for oral presentation will be announced exclusively through the International Halal Academy’s website and the event’s associated social media platforms.
9. PUBLICATION OF PAPERS
9.1. The responsibility for the content of the published papers lies solely with the author(s).
9.2. Submission of a paper for evaluation and selection at CTecHalal also implies joint authorization for the use of the authors’ image and permission for publication in the CTecHalal proceedings and in technical journals deemed appropriate.
10. FORMATTING GUIDELINES FOR PUBLICATION IN THE CTecHalal PROCEEDINGS
10.1. Text Formatting
a) The text must be submitted in Microsoft Word format, with a maximum of 5 pages, using Times New Roman font, size 11 pt. Line spacing must be single, text justified, and the first line of each paragraph indented by 1.25 cm.
b) The document must use A4 page size with the following mandatory margins: top, bottom, left, and right – all set to 2.5 cm.
c) The title should be written in all uppercase letters, centered, bold, and in size 12 pt.
d) Authors must be identified in uppercase letters, Times New Roman, size 10 pt. In addition to the full name, the author’s profession, institution, city, state, mailing address, and email must also be included in Times New Roman, size 10 pt.
e) Scientific papers must include:
- A title (maximum 15 words);
- An abstract (maximum 15 lines);
- Keywords (minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 words), which must not be repeated in the title;
- Title in English;
- Abstract in English;
- Keywords in English;
- Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and References.
f) Technical reports may alternatively follow this format:
- Context or Introduction,
- Product/Service or Development,
- Conclusions,
- References (optional).
g) The Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion sections may be written as either a combined or separate technical report. Acknowledgments are optional. Section titles should be formatted in uppercase and bold, size 11 pt.
h) Table and figure titles must appear above the respective element, in Times New Roman, size 11 pt.
i) References must follow the formatting examples below.
10.2. In-text Citations
a) For a single author: Zonta (2010) or (Zonta, 2010).
b) For two authors: Mielniczuk & Tornquist (2010) or (Mielniczuk & Tornquist, 2010).
c) For more than two authors: Pezzopane et al. (2010) or (Pezzopane et al., 2010).
d) For institutional authorship, use the institution’s acronym in uppercase letters.
Examples: EMBRAPA (2010) or (EMBRAPA, 2010).
10.3. Reference List
Cited references should be listed alphabetically by the last name of the first author and in chronological order. All authors must be listed. Formatting examples:

11. CERTIFICATION
11.1.
Certificate of Participation in the Halal Technical-Scientific Congress – CTecHalal
An online certificate will be issued to all participants of CTecHalal.
11.2.
Letter of Acceptance for Selected Papers
An online acceptance letter will be issued to authors whose papers have been accepted for presentation at CTecHalal.
11.3.
Certificate of Honorary Mention
An online certificate will be issued to authors whose papers are selected for oral presentation at CTecHalal. In the case of in-person presentations, the presenting author will receive a printed certificate at the end of the oral session.
11.4.
Certificate for Banner Presentation at CTecHalal
An online certificate will be issued to the author who presents the banner.
11.5.
CTecHalal Speaker Certificate
This certificate will be issued either online or in printed form (for in-person sessions) and delivered to the speaker at the end of the lecture or mini-course session. It will include the title of the lecture or mini-course presented.
11.6.
Mini-Course Participation Certificate
An online certificate will be issued to each mini-course participant, indicating the topic and number of hours completed.
11.7.
Certificate for CTecHalal Activity Moderators
An online certificate will be issued to the moderator at the end of the CTecHalal activity, indicating the topic of the session.
11.8. Online certificates will be available to participants starting five (5) calendar days after the end of CTecHalal. These certificates will remain accessible in the CTecHalal registration system for ninety (90) days after the event concludes.
12. GENERAL PROVISIONS
12.1. Paper submission to CTecHalal must be made exclusively through the designated submission system by the deadline stated in the REGULATIONS, which are published on the International Halal Academy's website. Submissions will not be accepted after the deadline specified in the REGULATIONS.
12.2. The information entered into the CTecHalal registration systems is the sole responsibility of the first author and may not be changed later, particularly the paper title, which will be used for certificate issuance.
12.3. The International Halal Academy and the event organizers are not responsible for registration failures by any author who does not officially appear in the registration system.

The INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY, a private, secular, neutral, and non-political nonprofit association, registered under CNPJ/MF No. 54.164.778/0001-65, headquartered at Avenida Yervant Kissajikian, 1040 – ZIP Code: 04657-001, São Paulo-SP, INVITES interested parties to submit technical-scientific papers for evaluation and, if approved, to present and publish them in the proceedings of the 2nd HALAL TECHNICAL-SCIENTIFIC CONGRESS – CTecHalal, which will be held alongside the activities of the GLOBAL HALAL BRAZIL – Business Forum, on October 27 and 28, 2025, under the terms established herein. The Congress is held in partnership with FAMBRAS HALAL Certifications and the CCAB – Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
1 – OBJECT
1.1 To evaluate and select technical and scientific papers that meet the requirements of this Regulation for presentation at the 2nd Halal Technical-Scientific Congress – CTecHalal, part of the GLOBAL HALAL BRAZIL – Business Forum, on October 27 and 28, 2025.
2– MOTIVATION
2.1 CTecHalal aims to disseminate technical and scientific research developed by professionals and students from national and international institutions. These works will be published in the event’s proceedings and made available electronically on the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY's homepage. The CTecHalal schedule includes technical-scientific presentations, mini-courses, conferences, and lectures by specialists. Important and current topics will be discussed, fostering the exchange of experiences among researchers, companies, professors, students, and professionals.
3 – SUBMISSION OF PAPERS
3.1 Papers and posters must be submitted exclusively through the submission/monitoring portal of the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY or emailed to: ctechalal@academiahalal.com.br. Submissions to other addresses or by post will not be accepted.
3.2 Submission deadline: until 11:59 p.m. on August 31, 2025.
3.3 Submission guidelines will be available on the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY homepage (www.academyhalal.com) upon publication of this Regulation.
4 – SELECTION CRITERIA
4.1 Submitted papers must address themes related to the Halal sector, namely:

n) Analytical Laboratories;

p) Media and Entertainment;
q) International Relations and Foreign Trade.
Technical papers on Professional Experience, Management, Quality, Education, Occupational Safety, and Sustainability and ESG Practices may also be submitted for selection and inclusion in the CTecHalal proceedings.
4.2 Papers will be evaluated and selected by a Scientific Review Committee composed of experts or professionals appointed by the General Director of the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY and coordinated by the General Secretary of the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY. The committee will consider, among other criteria, thematic relevance, originality, and clarity of presentation.
4.3 Originality will be verified through appropriate bibliographic research using specific software to detect possible instances of plagiarism. A tolerance of up to 5% is allowed for detected content similarity by the software.
4.4 A paper is considered to contain improper copying if it adapts or transcribes excerpts from other published documents without complying with citation standards. If improper copying is identified, the paper will not be accepted for evaluation, presentation at CTecHalal, or publication in the congress proceedings.
5 – RESULTS OF THE EVALUATION
5.1 The papers selected for presentation at CTecHalal and publication in the Congress proceedings will be announced on the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY’s submission/monitoring website (www.academiahalal.com.br) by September 31, 2025.
5.2 At the discretion of the Organizing Committee, awards may be granted to authors whose papers are selected for oral presentation at CTecHalal.
6 – PRESENTATION OF PAPERS
6.1 All selected papers will be presented at CTecHalal through a poster and an oral presentation.
6.2 Poster presentations of selected papers at CTecHalal may be conducted either virtually or in person by the author(s), and will be available on the homepage of the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY (www.academiahalal.com.br).
6.3 The INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY and the event organizers will not cover any transportation, accommodation, or meal expenses incurred by the authors of selected papers for the poster presentation at CTecHalal.
6.4 From the selected papers, up to twelve (12) will be chosen for oral presentation at CTecHalal. The oral presentation must be delivered by the first author, who must prove registration in the GLOBAL HALAL BRAZIL – Business Forum.
6.5 Oral presentations will take place in virtual or in-person rooms at dates and times determined by the CTecHalal Scientific Organizing Committee.
6.6 Oral presentations may be replaced by roundtable discussions, at the discretion of the CTecHalal Scientific Organizing Committee. These roundtables will consist of the paper's authors and members selected by the Scientific Organizing Committee.
7 – PUBLICATION OF PAPERS
7.1 Only original papers or those considered relevant by the Scientific Organizing Committee will be included in the CTecHalal proceedings.
7.2 The authors are solely responsible for the content of the published papers.
7.3 Submission of a paper for evaluation and selection at CTecHalal implies permission, on the part of all authors, for: the use of their images; the publication of the paper in the CTecHalal proceedings; and the redistribution of the paper and its metadata by the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY to indexing and reference services on the internet. Publication in technical journals must be authorized by the author(s).
8 – CLARIFICATIONS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
8.1 Clarifications and additional information regarding this Regulation can be requested via email at ctechalal@academiahalal.com.br or by phone at +55 11 5035-0820, extension 7081.
9 – ANNULMENT OR REVOCATION OF THE REGULATION
9.1 This Regulation may be annulled or revoked, in whole or in part, at any time and at the discretion of the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY, without entitling any party to compensation or claims of any kind.
10 – RESERVE CLAUSE
10.1 The Directorate and the General Secretariat of the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY reserve the right to resolve any omissions or unforeseen situations in this Regulation.
