Main Courses: Training, refresher, and capacity-building courses for employees of companies in the Halal sector, or for companies wishing to enter this field. Course information is disseminated via email to FAMBRAS Halal clients and through our social media: @academy_halal. The courses are divided into seven theoretical modules, totaling between 4 and 30 hours of instruction.

Halal Workshops and Seminars:
Workshops and seminars offered semi-annually with the main objective of exchanging experiences within the Halal segment, discussing the best forms of cooperation between certification bodies, as well as the Halal logistics system in Brazil and Latin America, inspection, accreditation and interaction with public and private authorities, Brazilian export volumes and the development of the Halal industry in Brazil and worldwide.
Course: The Islamic World: Society, Culture and State
Taught annually at the Rio Branco Institute in Brasília, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty), divided into five thematic modules with a total course workload of 25 (twenty-five) class hours.
Course: The Islamic World: Scenario, Opportunities, and Business
With a total course workload of 340 (three hundred and forty minutes) or 7 class hours, distributed across seven thematic modules.
Thematic lectures at partner universities and institutes.
Lectures held monthly, covering topics related to the Halal segment, with guest experts, with durations ranging from 2 to 6 hours.
Support and Development of Studies and Experimental Activities in collaboration with Researchers from Partner Universities and Institutes.
Support and development of research, studies, and experimental activities in collaboration with technicians and researchers from Brazilian and international universities and institutes, aiming to contribute to the development and improvement of the global Halal sector.
Course Regulations:
The legal basis for these open courses is Presidential Decree No. 5,154, of July 23, 2004, Articles 1 and 3, and Ordinance No. 008, of June 25, 2002, published in the Official Gazette of Santa Catarina – No. 16,935 – June 27, 2002. The distance learning open course is a form of non-formal education of variable duration, designed to provide workers with knowledge that allows them to professionalize, qualify, and update themselves for work.
The Federal Constitution, in its Article 205, states that education is a right of all and will be encouraged by society.
This practice is also supported by Article 206 of the Federal Constitution, which stipulates that education will be provided based on certain principles, and in its clause II:
"The freedom to learn, teach, research, and disseminate thoughts, art, and knowledge."
The Free Course, as outlined in Law No. 9.394/96 – Guidelines and Bases of National Education, has become part of the Professional Education modality.
Vocational education is a type of non-formal education of variable duration, designed to provide workers with knowledge that allows them to professionalize, qualify, and update themselves for work. According to Law No. 9394/96, Decree No. 5.154/04, and CEE Deliberation 14/97 (CEE Indication 14/97), so-called "free" courses do not require prior authorization to operate nor subsequent recognition from the competent Education Council. There is no specific legislation regulating these courses; therefore, free courses are not subject to regulation by the Ministry of Education. There is no requirement for prior schooling. The Free Course category serves the population with the aim of offering rapid professionalization in various areas of the job market, e.g., IT, Customer Service, Secretarial, Web Design, Security, Languages, Culinary Arts, Sewing, Aesthetics, Beauty, etc. "Free" means that there is no obligation regarding: course load, which can vary from a few hours to several months, subjects, duration, or prior diploma. Therefore, the offering of these courses does not depend on authorization from this Ministry, such as: institutional accreditation, authorization, and course recognition. Schools offering this type of course have the right to issue certificates to students in accordance with Law No. 9394/96; Decree No. 5.154/04;
CEE Resolution 14/97 (CEE Indication 14/97). It's important to remember that non-degree courses are not affiliated with or recognized by the MEC/CAPES (Brazilian Ministry of Education/Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel). These certificates are legally valid for various purposes, but cannot be validated, certified, or endorsed by schools recognized by the MEC/CAPES. The jurisprudence of the National Education Council has been to declare their equivalence, according to broad and flexible rules. Cooperatives, companies, and self-employed professionals can also offer such courses and issue certificates.
