Dr. A.S. Paul Gabriel Hilu

Historian and anthropologist specializing in Islam in Brazil and Latin America. He coordinates postgraduate research in Anthropology and the Center for Middle East Studies at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFF). He studies Islam in Syria and Brazil, and Arab identity in Rio de Janeiro. He has published five books and conducted research in Syria, Iraq, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Suriname. He holds degrees in History and Medicine and a PhD in Anthropology from Boston University in the United States.
