Read about the agreements signed by IHA over the past two months

The International Halal Academy (IHA) continues to expand its ties with leading institutions through partnerships and strategic alliances. The following agreements were signed in the last two months:

 

Tocantins State University (Unitins) - The memorandum of intent between the International Halal Academy, (Unitins) and FAMBRAS Halal provides for the establishment of the Hub Halal Tocantins and expanded cooperation between the institutions in areas such as research, teaching and outreach focused on agribusiness and the requirements of the Islamic market; technical training; support for attracting certified industries; and the development of public policies and international connections.

 

Federal University of Tocantins (UFT) – UFT, FAMBRAS Halal Certificadora, and the International Halal Academy signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at expanding technical and institutional cooperation in research, education, and outreach, strengthening strategic initiatives focused on the state’s development and access to the global Halal market. Planned initiatives include establishing the Halal Hub Tocantins; setting up the Halal Zone at Agrotins 2026; training and technical support for public policies; and encouraging the attraction of certified industries

 

Government of Tocantins - During Agrotins, the Government of Tocantins, represented by Governor Wanderlei Barbosa, authorized studies, research, and negotiations under a technical cooperation agreement with FAMBRAS Halal and the International Halal Academy. The initiative involves several strategic areas: developing Muslim-friendly tourism; qualifying and certifying sectors such as meat, grains, and fish farming with the Halal seal, expanding access to markets in the Middle East and Asia.

Sebrae TO - Sebrae Tocantins, FAMBRAS Halal Certificadora, and the International Halal Academy have formed a strategic partnership to help the state enter the global Islamic market and Muslim Friendly tourism sector. Key initiatives include tourism training, with talks and courses on cultural diversity, hospitality, service adaptation, and Halal food options for welcoming Muslim tourists. The partnership will also support sectors such as livestock, agribusiness, and commodities in meeting the sanitary and religious requirements of markets in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.

 

Brazilian Association of Soft Drink and Non-Alcoholic Beverage Industries (ABIR) – The agreement with ABIR provides for broad institutional cooperation between the organizations to jointly develop educational and outreach initiatives, knowledge dissemination, technical training, events, content production, and other activities of mutual interest related to the Halal sector and related topics.
