International Halal Academy Courses Featured in Agrotins Program
Agrotins 2026, one of Brazil’s largest agricultural technology trade fairs, held from May 12 to 16 in Palmas (TO), offered strategic training for producers, companies, and professionals interested in accessing international markets.
During the event, the International Halal Academy (IHA), a private institute providing education and professional development for the Halal market, held two Halal Training and Awareness courses on May 12 and 13, and a Halal/Muslim-Friendly Tourism course on May 14. Free and open to the public, both courses drew large crowds and filled the auditorium.
The initiative to offer the courses was part of a broader effort to transform Tocantins into a Halal hub, connecting local agribusiness with export opportunities and new consumer markets. In tourism, the proposal to make the state a Muslim-friendly destination took on special significance because Tocantins has strong potential for ecotourism, adventure tourism, and nature-based experiences—segments attracting growing interest among travelers seeking authentic, family-friendly destinations.
The courses were held in partnership with the Government of Tocantins, the Tocantins State Secretariat of Agriculture and Livestock, FAMBRAS Halal Certificadora, the Federation of Industries of the State of Tocantins (FIETO), the Euvaldo Lodi Institute (IEL), the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae), the State University of Tocantins (Unitins), the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT), the Tocantins Secretariat of Industry, Commerce and Services, the Tocantins State Secretariat of Tourism (Setur), and the Tocantins State Secretariat of Culture (Secult).
