Rules of the III Halal Technical-Scientific Congress - Year 2027
1. PREAMBLE
These rules govern the conditions for the execution of the Halal Technical-Scientific Congress – CTecHalal, an event organized by the International Halal Academy, which will be held as one of the activities of the Global Halal Brazil – Business Forum. Its objective is to disseminate technical and scientific work developed in various areas of interest within the Halal sector and the experience gained by academics and professionals from the national and international market. The Congress is held with the institutional support of FAMBRAS HALAL Certifications and the CCAB – Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
2. CtecHalal Structure
The structure of CtecHalal consists of a Scientific Organizing Committee, appointed by the Director General of the International Halal Academy, composed of the Secretary General of the International Halal Academy and specialists in various areas of interest, and will be coordinated by the Secretary General of the International Halal Academy. The working sessions of this committee will be held according to a calendar and work plan approved by the Director General. CtecHalal's activities will be developed during the Global Halal Brazil – Business Forum, through lectures, panel discussions, mini-courses, and presentations of technical-scientific papers addressing topics related to Halal areas of interest and professional experience; with dissemination and programming approved by the Scientific Organizing Committee and a budget approved by the Director General. The objective of CtecHalal is to attract technical-scientific papers for presentation at the Congress, which is held during the same period as the Global Halal Brazil – Business Forum, held in Brazil, and these papers will be published in the Congress Proceedings. This event will be in-person, contributing to the exchange of knowledge and technologies related to the various segments of Halal, enabling the participation of different audiences connected to the topic.
3. SUBMISSION OF WORKS
3.1. Submitted works should address the modalities covered in the following areas of interest to Halal:
· Drugs;
Cosmetics;
Islamic Finance;
· Information Technology;
· Right;
3.2. The submitted work must have all its authors identified with title, institution or organization to which they belong, city, state and country location, and contact email, according to the editable template available on the International Halal Academy homepage (www.academiahalal.com.br). The work must be submitted to CtecHalal by the first author identified at the beginning of the author list. Of the authors of the work, only this author will be contacted by the congress organization.
3.2.1. Each work may have a maximum of 10 (ten) authors.
3.2.2. The authors may be students or teachers of technical, undergraduate or postgraduate courses linked to national or international educational institutions; or professionals in the market.
3.3. All authors of the work must be registered and have their registration number in CTecHalal.
3.4. Papers must be submitted to CtecHalal by the deadline defined in these regulations for the submission of papers. A maximum of 3 (three) technical and/or scientific papers may be submitted by the first author. Written papers must be in Portuguese and English, with a maximum of 6 (six) A4 pages.
3.5. Submissions must be made in two formats: PDF and .doc, both editable and unblocked, identified by the title in capital letters, containing a maximum of 20 words, including monosyllabic, disyllabic, trisyllabic, and polysyllabic words.
3.6. Submitting papers for selection for presentation at CtecHalal and publication in the congress proceedings implies the irrevocable acceptance of these rules by the authors. The International Halal Academy is not responsible for improper designation of a co-author.
4. ACCEPTANCE OF THE WORK
4.1. Only papers that fully comply with these guidelines will be accepted for selection. Bibliographic review papers will not be accepted. For submitted papers, it is recommended to include results already achieved. Papers still under development and/or with results yet to be obtained may be accepted.
4.2. Submitted works will be evaluated for acceptance by the Organizing Scientific Committee, which will consider the originality of the approach and compliance with the writing and formatting rules of the text, as set out in these guidelines.
4.3. The rules for writing and formatting the text must be strictly followed, especially regarding scientific notation and relevant technical standards. If there are irreparable flaws in the observance of the writing and formatting rules, the work will not be accepted for evaluation.
4.4. The originality of the approach will be verified through appropriate bibliographic research using specific software to test documents for the existence of improper copies of other published documents. A limit of 3% is allowed for the indication, through specific bibliographic research software, of the possible existence of improper copies of documents published in the work submitted for evaluation by CtecHalal.
4.5. For the purposes of originality of approach, a document is considered to contain improper copying when it adapts or transcribes excerpts from other published documents without complying with the standard for citing bibliographic references. If excerpts from other published documents are copied without proper citation of bibliographic references, the work will not be accepted for evaluation and selection for presentation at CtecHalal and publication in the congress proceedings.
4.6. A "NOT ACCEPTED" opinion will be duly justified and communicated to the first author via email, and no appeals will be accepted from the authors of the work against the decision issued by the Organizing Scientific Committee.
5. SELECTION OF WORKS
5.1. The ACCEPTED works will be selected according to their evaluation scores; and the highest-ranked works will be selected for oral presentation during the CTecHalal event.
5.2. The opinions of the evaluators of the Organizing Scientific Committee for the submitted works will be either NOT ACCEPTED or ACCEPTED.
5.2.1. The evaluators will observe, among other criteria: The suitability of the work's subject matter to the theme of the modality. The clarity of the topic's exposition. The contextualization of the problem situation. The coherence between the objectives. The justification and social relevance of the study. The scientific robustness of the hypotheses presented. The coherence and adequacy of the methodology adopted with what was intended in the study and whether it is sufficiently detailed to be reproduced. Whether the results are adequately described and in accordance with what was collected and reported in the methodology. Whether the use of graphs and tables facilitates the exposition of the topic. Whether there is redundancy of information about the study's results. Whether the discussion is coherent and current, engaging with the proposed objectives and the results obtained.
5.3. Papers requiring corrections will be forwarded to the first author. After the corrections, the papers must be resubmitted to the Organizing Scientific Committee by the first author within 5 (five) consecutive days, starting from the day after notification of the correction. Corrected papers resubmitted after the deadline will be REJECTED.
5.4. Changes to the titles of papers will only be made if determined by the Organizing Scientific Committee. Requests for changes to titles and authors will not be accepted before the evaluation and selection of papers.
5.5. The REJECTED opinion will be duly justified and communicated to the author via email, and no appeals against the decision will be accepted.
6. PRESENTATION OF WORKS BY PHYSICAL OR DIGITAL BANNER
6.1. All approved works will be presented at CtecHalal via physical or digital banner, at the discretion of the Congress Organizing Committee.
6.2. The first author of the work approved for presentation via banner must submit the electronic file of the banner, in editable .ppt or .pptx format, according to the template adopted by the CtecHalal Organizing Committee available on the International Halal Academy homepage, within 5 (five) consecutive days, starting from the day after notification. The exclusion of the logos of the event's sponsors or supporters from the CtecHalal banner template is prohibited.
6.3. The poster presentation file to be submitted to CtecHalal must be named with the title of the work in capital letters. No subsequent changes are permitted. The poster presentation of the selected work will be made by the author, provided they prove that they have registered for the Global Halal Brazil – Business Forum; presentation by third parties who are not authors of the selected work is prohibited.
6.4. The location, date, and time for the banner presentation will be included in the CtecHalal program, which will be announced in advance by the event's Organizing Committee. At the discretion of this committee, the presentation may be live online or recorded.
6.5. The banners will be displayed from the first day of the Global Halal Brazil – Business Forum, in the designated locations before the scheduled opening time, and may not be removed before the closing of CtecHalal; and in the case of a virtual event, the display conditions will be defined by the event organizers.
6.6. The author presenting the banner must remain at the presentation location for the entire scheduled presentation period, awaiting the Banner Presentation Evaluation Committee. At the end of the presentation, the author who presented the banner must sign the attendance list – either physically or virtually, in which case, at the discretion of the Evaluation Committee, they may be released from the presentation session, remaining on the event premises until the closing of CtecHalal. Signing the attendance list is mandatory for the issuance of the banner presentation certificate.
6.7. The Event Organizing Committee and the International Halal Academy will not cover any travel or accommodation expenses for authors of papers selected for poster presentation at CTecHalal.
6.8. Authors of works displayed (at an in-person event) on posters may only retrieve them after the conclusion of CtecHalal. The International Halal Academy and the congress organizers will not send posters to the authors. Poster not retrieved at the end of the congress will be discarded or donated to interested institutions.
6.9. Authors presenting work in poster format must submit their posters according to the template available on the International Halal Academy website and with the following specifications: maximum usable area of 1.08 m²; maximum dimensions of 0.9 m wide by 1.20 m high; sans-serif font (Arial, Calibri, etc.) in a size that allows reading from a distance of at least 2.0 m (minimum size of 28 pt) to facilitate reading by participants; include title, authors, affiliated institutions, mailing address and email, introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion; include photographs, graphs, tables and figures that facilitate illustration and conclusions, and include supporting logos and sponsorships, when applicable.
6.10. Poster presentations will be evaluated by two members of the Scientific Organizing Committee and two experts invited by the congress organizers.
7. ORAL PRESENTATION OF WORK
7.1. The presentation at CTecHalal of the selected work classified for oral presentation will be made by the first author of the work, provided that they prove to have registered for the Global Halal Brazil – Business Forum; presentation by third parties who are not authors of the classified work is prohibited.
7.2. The International Halal Academy will not cover the travel and accommodation expenses for the authors of each paper selected for oral presentation at CTecHalal.
7.3. The authors of the papers selected for oral presentation must send their respective electronic files in PowerPoint (.pps file), with a maximum size of 2 MB, to the email address ctechalal@academiahalal.com.br, within 5 calendar days after the announcement of the selected papers. The presentation will last 10 minutes, with 7 minutes for the presentation of the topic and 3 minutes for discussion.
7.4. The oral presentation will take place in virtual or in-person rooms, on the days and times defined by the CTecHalal Organizing Scientific Committee.
7.5. Oral presentations of papers may be replaced by roundtable discussions, at the discretion of the CTecHalal Organizing Scientific Committee. The roundtable will consist of the authors of the papers and members chosen by the Organizing Scientific Committee.
8. CLASSIFICATION OF PAPERS FOR ORAL PRESENTATION
8.1. Of the papers accepted for presentation at CTecHalal, up to 12 (twelve) papers will be selected for oral presentation.
8.2. The classification of the papers will be carried out by specialists appointed by the CTecHalal Organizing Scientific Committee, which will forward the classified papers to the CTecHalal Scientific Evaluation Committee.
8.2.1. The Coordinator of the Scientific Organizing Committee of CTecHalal will forward the list of classified works, indicating the authors who will make the presentation, for deliberation by the CTecHalal Scientific Evaluation Committee.
8.3. The announcement of the works selected for oral presentation at CTecHalal will only be made through publication on the International Halal Academy website and on social media channels linked to the event.
9. PUBLICATION OF WORKS
9.1. The responsibility for the content of published works rests exclusively with the author(s).
9.2. Submitting the work for evaluation and selection at CTecHalal implies, jointly and severally, permission for the use of the image, permission for publication in the CTecHalal proceedings and in technical journals deemed appropriate.
10. FORMATTING OF PAPERS FOR PUBLICATION IN THE CTecHalal PROCEEDINGS
10.1. Text Formatting
a) The text must be in Word for Windows format, with a maximum of 5 pages, written in Arial font, size 12 pt. The text must have single line spacing, be justified, and have a paragraph indentation of 1.25 cm.
b) The following margins must be observed, mandatory for A4 size paper: top, bottom, left and right sides equal to 2.5 cm.
c) The title should be written in all capital letters, centered, 12 pt font size, and bold.
d) The authors should be identified in capital letters, Arial font, size 10 pt. In addition to the full name, the following should be provided: profession, institution, city, state, address, and email for correspondence, also in Arial font and size 10 pt.
e) The texts of scientific papers must contain a title with a maximum of 20 words; an abstract with a maximum of 15 lines; keywords with a minimum of 3 words and a maximum of 5 words, which should not be included in the title; a title in English; an abstract; keywords; an introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion, conclusion, and references.
f) The texts of technical papers and reports may also follow this format: Context or Introduction, Product/Service or Development, Conclusions, and References (optional).
(g) The introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, and conclusion can be written as separate technical reports or together. Acknowledgments are optional. Sections should be formatted in uppercase and bold, 11 pt font.
h) Table and figure titles should be written above the tables and figures, using Arial font, 12 pt font size.
i) Bibliographic references must be consistent with the examples.
10.2. Citations in the text
a) When the citation has only one author: Zonta (2010) or (Zonta, 2010).
b) When the citation has two authors: Mielniczuk & Tornquist (2010) or (Mielniczuk & Tornquist, 2010).
c) When the citation has more than two authors: Pezzopane et al. (2010) or (Pezzopane et al., 2010).
d) When the authorship of the work is by an institution/company, the citation should be its acronym, in capital letters. Examples: EMBRAPA (2010) or (EMBRAPA, 2010).
10.3. List of cited literature
The bibliographies cited in the text should be listed in alphabetical order by the last name of the first author, in ascending chronological order, and should include the names of all authors. Examples of formatting are presented below:

11. ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES
11.1. Certificate of participation in the Halal Technical-Scientific Congress – CtecHalal.
It will be issued online to all participants in CTecHalal.
11.2. Letter of Acceptance for work selected for presentation at CTecHalal.
It will be issued online to the authors whose work has been accepted for presentation at CTecHalal.
11.3. Certificate of Oral Presentation.
A certificate will be issued online to authors whose work has been selected for oral presentation at CTecHalal. At the end of the oral presentation session (if in person), the author who presented the work will receive a printed certificate.
11.4. Certificate of presentation of work in poster format at CtecHalal.
It will be issued online to the author who submitted the banner.
11.5. Certificate of speaker or panelist at CtecHalal.
A printed copy will be issued (in the case of in-person events) and given to the speaker at the end of the lecture/mini-course session, indicating the topic of the lecture/mini-course given.
11.6. Certificate of participation in a mini-course.
Issued online to the mini-course participant, indicating the topic and the number of hours completed in the mini-course.
11.7. Certificate of activity mediator from CtecHalal.
Issued to the facilitator at the end of the CtecHalal activity, indicating the activity's theme.
11.8. Certificates issued online will be available to interested parties from
5 consecutive days, starting from the closing date of CtecHalal. Certificates issued online will be available to the recipient in the CtecHalal registration systems for 90 (ninety) days, starting from the closing date of CtecHalal.
12. GENERAL PROVISIONS
12.1. Submissions for CtecHalal will be made exclusively through the submission system until the deadline stipulated in the REGULATIONS, and will be duly publicized on the International Halal Academy homepage. Submissions through the CtecHalal submission system after the stipulated deadline will not be permitted.
12.2. The data entered into the CtecHalal registration systems will be the sole responsibility of the first author, and no subsequent changes will be allowed, especially to the title of the work, which will be used to generate the certificates later.
12.3. The International Halal Academy and the congress organizers are not responsible for registrations/enrollments not completed by any of the interested authors and which are not officially recorded in the registration system.

The INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY, a private, secular, neutral, and apolitical non-profit association, registered with the CNPJ/MF under number 54.164.778/0001-65, headquartered at Avenida Yervant Kissajikian, 1040 – CEP: 04657-001, São Paulo - SP, INVITES interested parties to submit technical-scientific papers for evaluation and, if approved, to be presented and published in the proceedings of the III HALAL TECHNICAL-SCIENTIFIC CONGRESS – CTecHalal, which will be held in parallel with the activities of the GLOBAL HALAL BRAZIL – Business Forum, to be held on October 25 and 26, 2027, under the terms established herein. The Congress is held with the institutional support of FAMBRAS HALAL Certifications and CCAB – Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
1. OF THE OBJECT
1.1 - To evaluate and select technical and scientific papers that meet the requirements of these REGULATIONS for presentation at the III Halal Technical-Scientific Congress - CTecHalal, which will be held as one of the activities of the GLOBAL HALAL BRAZIL – Business Forum, on October 25 and 26, 2027.
2. MOTIVATION
2.1 - The CTecHalal's main motivation is to disseminate technical and scientific work developed by professionals, teachers, and students in various national and international institutions and organizations. This work is published in the Congress proceedings and disseminated electronically on the International Halal Academy's homepage. The CTecHalal program is designed to include sessions with presentations of technical and scientific papers, mini-courses, conferences, panels, and lectures by specialists. These sessions address important and current topics, representing a significant opportunity for the effective exchange of experiences among researchers, companies, teachers, students, and professionals.
3. SUBMISSION OF PAPERS
3.1 - Papers and banners must be submitted exclusively through the International Halal Academy's registration/monitoring page, via email: ctechalal@academiahalal.com.br. Papers and/or banners sent to any email address other than that of the International Halal Academy will not be accepted, nor will printed papers and/or banners sent by mail or courier.
3.2 - End of submission of papers: 11:59 PM on July 31, 2027.
3.3 - The STANDARDS and this REGULATION for the submission of technical and scientific papers will be available on the International Halal Academy homepage (www.academyhalal.com) from the date of publication of this REGULATION.
4. SELECTION CRITERIA
4.1 The topics of the submitted works must address the modalities covered by the Halal segment, namely:
Technical papers addressing Professional Experience, Education, Occupational Safety and Health, and Sustainability and ESG Practices may also be submitted for selection for presentation at CTecHalal and publication in the Congress Proceedings.
4.2 The submitted works will be evaluated and selected by a Scientific Evaluation Committee composed of specialists and professionals appointed by the Director General of the International Halal Academy, which will be coordinated by the Secretary General of the International Halal Academy, who will also be a member of the Committee. The Committee will consider, among other criteria, the relevance to the subject matter, the originality of the approach, and the clarity of the presentation of the topic.
4.3 The originality of the approach will be verified through appropriate bibliographic research using specific software to test documents for the existence of improper copies of other published documents. A limit of 5% is allowed for the indication, through specific bibliographic research software, of the possible existence of improper copies of documents published in the work submitted for evaluation by CTecHalal.

5. RESULTS OF THE EVALUATION OF THE WORKS
5.1 The works selected for presentation at CTecHalal will be published on the International Halal Academy's registration/monitoring website (www.academiahalal.com.br) by September 31, 2027.
5.2 At the discretion of the Organizing Committee, prizes may be awarded to authors whose work is selected for oral presentation at CtecHalal.
6. PRESENTATION OF THE WORKS
6.1 All selected works will be presented at CTecHalal by means of a poster (to be confirmed by the Organizing Committee) and/or oral presentation.
6.2 The presentation of the selected work via banner at CTecHalal will be done virtually or in person by the author(s) of the work, and will be available on the homepage of the International Halal Academy (www.academiahalal.com.br).
6.3 The International Halal Academy and the event organizers will not cover any travel, accommodation, or food expenses for the authors of papers selected for oral or poster presentation at CTecHalal.
6.4 From the selected works, up to 12 (twelve) works will be chosen for oral presentation at CTecHalal. The oral presentation at CTecHalal of the selected work will be given by the first author, provided they prove that they registered for the CTecHalal event.
6.5 The oral presentation will take place in virtual or in-person rooms, on the days and times defined by the CTecHalal Organizing Scientific Committee.
6.6 Oral presentations of papers may be replaced by roundtable discussions, at the discretion of the CTecHalal Organizing Scientific Committee. The roundtable will consist of the authors of the papers and members chosen by the Organizing Scientific Committee.
7. PUBLICATION OF WORKS
7.1 Publication of papers in the CTecHalal proceedings will only consider original works or those deemed relevant by the Organizing Scientific Committee in their respective categories.
7.2 The responsibility for the content of published works rests exclusively with the author(s).
7.3 Submitting a work for evaluation and selection at CTecHalal implies, jointly and severally, permission for the use of images, permission for publication in the CTecHalal proceedings, and permission for the INTERNATIONAL HALAL ACADEMY to redistribute the work and its metadata to indexing and referencing services on the Internet. Publication of the work in technical journals must be authorized by the author(s).
8. CLARIFICATIONS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
8.1 Clarifications and additional information regarding the content of these REGULATIONS may be obtained at the email address ctechalal@academiahalal.com.br.
9. CANCELLATION OR REVOCATION OF THE REGULATIONS
9.1 At any time, this REGULATION may be revoked or annulled, in whole or in part, at the discretion of the International Halal Academy, without giving rise to any right to compensation or claim of any kind.
10. RESERVATION CLAUSE
10.1 The Board of Directors and the General Secretariat of the International Halal Academy reserve the right to resolve any omissions and situations not foreseen in these Regulations.
