IHA promotes Forum and mini-courses during Anuga Select Brazil 2026
The International Halal Academy (IHA) held a special program during Anuga Select Brazil 2026, the leading food and beverage industry trade show in Latin America, held from April 7th to 9th at the Anhembi District in São Paulo. As part of the event's official program, the institution promoted the 1st Anuga Select Brazil Halal Forum, themed "Increased Consumer Awareness, Multiculturalism and Globalization," bringing together experts, authorities, and market representatives to discuss trends, opportunities, and challenges facing the Halal sector in the global context.
The Forum's program included a solemn opening ceremony attended by the following authorities: Ali Zoghbi, President of the International Halal Academy; Beni Piatetzky, General Director of Koelnmesse Brasil; Jonas Colvara, Rector of Estácio University; and Silvia Massruhá, President of Embrapa.
During the event, a memorandum of understanding signed at the opening ceremony between the IHA and the organizer of Anuga, Koelnmesse Brasil, foresees the holding of a new edition of the Forum in 2027.
The keynote lecture, themed "The role of the Brazilian food and beverage industry in guaranteeing food security in Brazil and the world, with efficient production, environmental respect, and social justice," was given by keynote speaker Cléber Sabonaro, a specialist in Competitive Intelligence and Foreign Trade at the Brazilian Food Industry Association (ABIA). The following panels were also held:
PANEL 1:
"The Global Halal Market – Trends and Opportunities," with: Ali Zoghbi, President of the International Halal Academy; William Adib, President of CCAB; Cristina Thomaz, panel moderator.
PANEL 2:
"Halal Food and Beverages: Key Economic Data, Trends, and Challenges," with: Fernanda Baltazar, Director of International Relations at CCAB; Arthur Martinho, Vice-President of IBREI; Delduque Martins, Executive Director and Secretary General of the International Halal Academy.
PANEL 3:
"Quality Infrastructure in Food and Beverages," with: Marcos Guerson, Superintendent of IPEM-SP; Bárbara Cristina, Quality Analyst at Fambras Halal.
The following mini-courses were part of the Forum's program:
COURSE 1:
"Halal Foods: What they are and how certification works," with Bárbara Cristina, Quality Analyst at FAMBRAS Halal;
COURSE 2:
"Halal, healthy eating and holistic well-being", with Shirlei Tessarini, coordinator of the Nutrition course at Estácio University;
COURSE 3:
"The globalization of information and communication in the conscious consumption of Halal products," with Alessandra Frisso, executive director of H2R Insights & Trends;
COURSE 4:
"Concern for ethics and quality in the context of Halal food and beverages," presented by Omar Chahine, Director of Business Intelligence at FAMBRAS Halal Certificadora.
